Here is my project - a two page spread about ME! This is my school picture from this year. On the opposite page are just a handful of my titles. And I wouldn't give up any of them! Now there have been days in which I threatened to change my name to something that cannot be pronounced :) I used a variety of Cricut cartridges for my titles. I welded each of them using my Gypsy.
Supplies used:
Paper - Quick Quotes, American Crafts, and a piece of cardstock from my stash
Cricut Cartridges - Alphalicious, CM Cheerful Seasons, Cuttin' Up, Makin' the Grade, and Disney-Mickey Font

I have BLOG CANDY! To be eligible to receive a RAK, you must be a follower of my blog and leave a comment with a way to contact you. The lucky recipient will be chosen by Random.org and I will post the name Thursday, November 29.

Naked Layout - G Version

Are you one of those scrapbookers who save EVERYTHING with plans to put it in the scrapbook? I am. But then I find myself with more things than pictures that need a home in the scrapbook. This Naked Layout challenge from Lasting Memories is just what I need to get those other things on pages. The challenge of the challenge (ha, ha) is to create a layout with no pictures. Here is my LO.
This is the breakfast menu my two daughters made for "Daddy" for Father's Day. With a little help from me, they cooked his selections and served it to him in his chair (mom's version of breakfast in bed). The mug is from Summer Celebrations Cricut cartridge and is cut at 5".

Til next time,
Melissa

Be sure to check back Tuesday for the "All About Me" blog hop.

Baby Shower Card

I attended a surprise baby shower Monday night for the Membership Specialist of our local Girl Scout Council. With this being her second child, and second boy at that, she doesn't need many things. So diapers and wipes it was! A new mom can never have enough diapers and wipes. My main type of paper crafting is scrapbook LOs. I went out of my comfort zone and created this sweet card to go along with the gift. I followed a sketch found at  ABC Challenges. I cut the teddy bear (and shift) at 3" using Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge. The cardstock came out of my scrap folder. And the patterned paper is from DCWV The Stack 6. I also inked the bear with CTMH Chocolate ink. I recently got into inking, so it's not awesome. But I'm pleased :)

Here is my finished card:

Thankful Blog Hop

<a href="http://afternoonscrapper.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u381/chocolatecoffeecards/thanks.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Hello and welcome to the "Thankful" Bloghop! This is the time of the year we really reflect on what we have to be thankful for. I am thankful for my husband and two beautiful daughters, God, my family, my friends, my job and co-workers, my church family, and many, MANY more things. I am also thankful to everyone who is taking time out of their busy schedule to check out the projects in this bloghop!

In addition to seeing a lot of awesome creations, there is some blog candy available too.  If you comment on everyone's bloghop post you will be entered to win the goodies.  Michelle, our host, has created a prize package that is a mix of paper, stickers, mists, stencils, stickers, and more!

Here is a picture of the candy I'm going to offer. I'm working on the list and write up.

You should have come from Diana - http://thescrappytree.blogspot.com/. If not, please start at the beginning of the hop with Melanie at http://afternoonscrapper.blogspot.com/.

For this blog hop, I created a two-page "Thanks" layout.  I have temporarily attached the mats to the page so I can move them around if needed.  I have been trying to use what supplies I already have without spending money.  I am "thankful" I was able to complete a LO without shopping.

My First Chevron LO

I created this one page LO for Sketch #233 at Creative Scrappers. Chevrons are something new for me. I keep ideas and sketches from various craft magazines in a three ring binder. I recently added an example of a page with a chevron pattern made from a 8x8 paper pad. So when I came across this sketch at Creative Scrappers, I immediately pulled out my binder and used the directions provided in the example from "Creating Keepsakes" Sept/Oct 2012 issue. I will admit I struggled getting the pieces to line up with the vision I had in my mind. I even asked my husband to help me. My finished product is nothing like my original vision. But it's even better :)

Supplies:
DCWV Cardstock
